Luchtmachtdagen Volkel

On June 14th and 15th 2013 the Dutch Air Force open days were celebrated on Volkel airbase. This celebration was dedicated to 100 years of military aviation in the Netherlands, which resulted in an excellent mix of old and new aircraft in the display.

A quick selection of my pictures can be seen below.

RIAT Fairford 2012

For the first time in many years I managed to visit RIAT in Fairford again. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to visit the actual showdays, but did get a chance to be there on departure day.

Here’s but a few of my shots.

Rafale in HDR

Just to try something different for a change, I processed this picture of a banking Aronavale Rafale with HDR-software. High dynamic range imaging (HDRI or just HDR) is a set of techniques that allows a greater dynamic range between the lightest and darkest areas of an image than current standard digital imaging techniques or photographic methods. This wide dynamic range allows HDR images to represent more accurately the range of intensity levels found in real scenes, ranging from direct sunlight to faint starlight, and is often captured by way of a plurality of differently exposed pictures of the same subject matter (source: Wikipedia).
